BASE MOSQUITO use live production, keyboards, flute, vocals, percussion, cutting edge effects and the latest technology to screw the minds of party crowds, changing the way dance floor sounds are enjoyed forever. Ret (live production, keyboards, flute, effects, backing vocals) Jules (vocals, samplers, effects) and Jay (percussion) tailor each unique experience according to time, location, ambience and crowd reaction to send intense musical energy to the very souls of their audience.

RET is Bulgarian born and crazy about music since the age of seven. Highly educated in many musical styles and accomplished in flute, piano and drums, his fascination with electronic music began in the early eighties, inspired by Jean-Michele Jarre and American pioneer of electronic music, Robert Moog of Moog synthesizer fame. Ret toured Europe, playing festivals and using his roots in jazz to begin exploring the freedom of his growing passion in electronic sounds. Teaming up with Jules, his understanding of dance music grew as they played, partied and performed their way around the world, with much time spent in underground parties in Miami, London and the rest of Europe. Having journeyed through countless styles of composing, remixing soon became a full-time passion, and it was through this journey that Base Mosquito was born. As Ret continues to put his extraordinary talents and spiritual energy into his music, the party continues to grow…

JULES, the daughter of a successful jazz musician, spent the early part of her career using her vocal and dance skills in theatre and television. She became passionately involved in electronic music at the beginning of the nineties and soon became recognised as one of the dance scene’s wildest and dynamic performers, spending three years with techno band, ‘Dance Overdose’, reaching the Scottish Dance Charts with the single, ‘Chemically Insane’. The band signed with Clubscene management alongside the likes of Ultrasonic, Dymensions, Suburban Delay and Rhythmic State. One of Jules’ proudest moments was playing to a crowd of four thousand at an infamous, ‘Rezerrection’ event, with Carl Cox watching the set from the backstage. After working with some of the top DJs and live PAs of the nineties, Jules teamed up with Ret and travelled the world, creating Base Mosquito and developing their deep mutual connection with their unique music…

JAY or JAYONDRUMS as he’s more fondly recognised has been playing percussion on the UK dance scene for almost fifteen years, experiencing different genres of music at an Underground level. Jay has worked with some of the best DJs and artists in the business such as CJ Macintosh, Jazzy M, Joey Negro, Norman J, Andy Cato (Groove Armada), Bryan G (Movement) and The Ratpack. Jay is dedicated to live musical enhancement on the dance floor and has toured with Ministry of Sound, performing all over the world and never failing to deliver a high-energy performance. With his unique talent for percussion and his strong spiritual connection to his music that can be reached through his drums, Jay sends audiences to places they never knew existed. He feels blessed to combine energy with Ret and Jules, to journey forwards with Base Mosquito
